Scheduling a Family Vacation is NOT EASY

fighting calendars Our family is large, and many of us have children, and those children have children. How blessed we are!
HOWEVER, it turns out that scheduling a moment to be together is almost impossible. Spring breaks don't match up! There are soccer games!

But somehow we managed it!
And in April 2026 we had a charming 4 day vacation at a pretty house on Lake Anna with many--if not all--of our beloved family.

Not to mention Lily the dog.

Meals

Food supplies In addition to the complicated scheduling, the planners arranged meals, assigning each of the four breakfasts and dinners to someone. Lunch was to be impromptu.
Everyone brought EMORMOUS AMOUNTS OF FOOD.
Hope brought a lot of wine and mostly drank it herself.

Exciting Birthday!

The Winslow twins turned FIFTEEN! Their loving mother assembled the most FABULOUS goodie bags ever--AND, in a revolutionary change to birthday party tradition--distributed them BEFORE DINNER. This was very popular with the children! They explored their treasures with breathless excitement! Dinner prep was exceptionally peaceful that evening.
And there was ICE CREAM for dessert!

Exciting FIRE!

Dinner on the last night included chicken cooked on the grill. Reynolds laid it on the grill and *BOOM!* the grill BURST INTO FLAME! There was a frantic search for the fire extinguisher! The fire department was called! The fire extinguisher was found and the fire was sprayed! All was well! The fire dept was told not to bother but they came anyway. They were a big hit with Lily who started to go home with them but was recalled to her duty.
We all were thankful that the catastrophe had been averted! YIKES! Such excitement!

Pictures!

We all took MANY MANY pictures. Some are available here.
