Click HERE for pics Though we all loved the house we had last year, it was unavailable, so we took a SPLENDID house on Clark's Cove instead--a couple miles up the Dameriscotta river from South Bristol, where all the Hopes hang out.

It was really TWO houses made into one, joined together by a huge tall room, filled with genial sofas, and lighted by high windows looking out through trees to the river. |  |
It happened that a ghastly heat wave hit the country during our stay. No matter. On vacation, you don't have to do anything. We dozed, read, gazed at the water, and felt lucky to be there.
Such wonderful fun, to be all together! Thank you to everyone who worked it into their busy schedules. It was a very happy time.
