Baby and tree The Wonder of Christmas was somewhat diminished this year thanks to a horrid bug that had its victims spouting vomit like fountains. This tended to cast something of a PALL over the festivities.

However,I was spared along with several others, so there's that.
We are thinking that our adorable Constantine was the innocent carrier of the plague. He was certainly one of the victims, and started things off with a grand flourish on the way home from the airport. I have since vowed to always have a roll of paper towels handy in the car.

However, the young man recovered enough to charm his family completely, and we had such fun despite the ghastly infection.

Sophie LOVES Christmas It is a wonderful thing that the next generation is finally settling down and finding their dear companions. I am so happy for them! It does mean, of course, that our precious children must be shared between families, so that this year to accommodate everyone it was deemed best to move our Christmas celebration to Boxing Day--which meant that Christmas day was a DAY OF LEISURE for me, very welcome after the demanding but so rewarding business of our traditional Christmas Eve party.
However, I had made plans for festive Christmas dinner! A FIVE POUND TENDERLOIN OF BEEF! But one by one, the celebrants were laid low by the horrid bug mentioned above. So that there were only THREE of us at the table facing that mighty dish.
Very nice it was, too.
The next day everyone was able to take part in our normal Christmas festivities, though perhaps not so enthusiastic in the eating department. WHATever. MANY pictures here!
